Title: The Poetry Game
Description: Lots of Intellectual Fun

Zeal - October 9, 2005 06:40 PM (GMT)
This is a very simple game. I start by typing a line of a poem then you continue and add a line of your own. The rhyming scheme needs to be AABB CCDD.
For example:
I start with:

This is a game of lots of fun

The next person would type:

For you, for me for everyone.
But can you see who here can rhyme?

etc...
if you want to comment put two slashes in front of it and then square brackets

Here will be the startting line of our poem.

Here we are on dRO //[that will be pronounced dee are oh]

Jaylor - October 9, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
Playing word games to and fro,
Making riddles and poems too

Zeal - October 9, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
//[It is actually better to say one line, then a second with a new ending sound. That way we aren't using the same sounds over and over again]

Jaylor - October 9, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
//[I see, so everyone puts in two lines? *edits post*]

Sano Sato - October 10, 2005 02:33 PM (GMT)
Bickering, stomping, compaints of everything poo.

Ever erring, ever vain, we humans are stupid.

Jaylor - October 10, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
//[How does teeth rhyme with "too"?]

Sano Sato - October 10, 2005 04:42 PM (GMT)
//[forcing words sucks, this is why i do free form. i'll fix it cause i followed more of the basic scheme instead of following the sound from the previous line]

CuisinartBlade - October 10, 2005 05:32 PM (GMT)
Phreak is a lazy mofo that can't rhyme the word stupid

So he just used it again and will finish this line with orange so that other people will suffer too. Orange.

This word must rhyme with door-hinge
And now let's give the world a better rhyme

CuisinartBlade - October 10, 2005 05:37 PM (GMT)
damn you lazy guest, (that became unlazy and signed in) i will rhyme your rhyme with "thyme" which is a herb... umm... Thyme
and for other d00dz that troll these boards, go rhyme something with ...ummm... Vasili

Miera - October 10, 2005 05:42 PM (GMT)
Silly creature, observe: Fusilli!
Do not tangle with those who admire noodles! :P

CuisinartBlade - October 10, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
noodles? noodles? NOODLES? well... umm... POODLES!! OOOOHHH!! wiat shit. it's supposed to end with the word. ... ... ... POOOOOOODLESSSS!!!

fine then if you're so smart, rhyme this "iwiueyoihfoa" HA! i bet you can't

Miera - October 10, 2005 05:46 PM (GMT)
I can't can I? Well then it's good that all I have to do is rhyme with can't. Isn't it? Rant!
You know, this game would work much better if these lines had a bit of rhythm.

CuisinartBlade - October 10, 2005 05:50 PM (GMT)
that's probably true, but .. well... i'm no good at poetry, so i'm just going to go ahaid and not add any rhythem. quithem

and i know quithem is not a word, but tough titties for you.

Miera - October 10, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
That rhyme was easier than usual, too.
Are you losing your touch or something?

CuisinartBlade - October 10, 2005 05:54 PM (GMT)
i am just lazy and trying to do my bio presentation and the teacher is really a gay thing

bah! don't make me invent something wierd *opens up a dictionary* monkey

Miera - October 10, 2005 06:04 PM (GMT)
Hahahahahaha how twee.

This game is getting less and less amusing. Go work.

CuisinartBlade - October 10, 2005 06:10 PM (GMT)

Jaylor - October 10, 2005 06:42 PM (GMT)
//[What have you done to this game?! Play properly. It's not just random rhyming, we're trying to colelctively make some sort of sense.]

CuisinartBlade - October 10, 2005 06:45 PM (GMT)
//OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH!!! so NOW you tell me

Zeal - October 12, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)

CuisinartBlade - October 12, 2005 01:38 AM (GMT)
// le francais est un langue stupide. qui donne CHAQUE NOUN une genre (le Livre N'EST PAS un garcon!!!)

Jaylor - October 12, 2005 01:39 AM (GMT)
//[So... anyone care to start it off again? (preferably not in french )

Oui, je veux l'essayer.
Mais est-ce qu'il y a quelqu'un qui peut rimer avec ca?

Kazan - October 23, 2005 05:47 PM (GMT)
Oui, je peux, je dirai "Huzzah!"
Let's keep it English from now, okay?

Jeff - October 23, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
English sounds good for now, for say.
only few in these forums comprehend the ones french

Jaylor - October 24, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
Ones who do bound over the lang. trench.

Now we're happy and this game is going,

Kazan - October 27, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
While we're underfed and our lawns need mowing.

But it doesn't matter cause we're on the forum,

Jaylor - October 28, 2005 08:19 PM (GMT)
and we can all sit and act with decorum.

Let the object of objection become but a dream,

*finishes*

As I cause the scene to become unseen.

Come on people, let's play this game,

Tramp - November 1, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
//[:huh: ?!

its a game?!]

Jaylor - November 2, 2005 10:30 PM (GMT)
//[...yes. Didn't you read the first page of this topic? And, you know, the topic which says Poetry Game? You play by finishing the rhyme from the person above you and making a start to a new one, to make a poem (hopefully that makes sense)]

NukeFall - November 6, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
its certainly not lame.

Come now gather round

Tramp - November 6, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
//[i usualy dont read the firt page of a game topic...unlike everything else]

Jaylor - November 8, 2005 08:40 PM (GMT)
and listen to the poetic sound.

Walk towards the thing you hear,

//[Zero please play the game if nothing else, or your posts here might be deleted :P)]

Tramp - November 8, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)
its boring to rime
this is a waist of my time

(XP)

Jaylor - November 10, 2005 01:07 PM (GMT)
//[Your first line has to rhyme with my last line. Mine was

Walk towards the thing you hear,

so a post for you could be:

and approach it without fear

Next you start a new rhyme, Example:

Now you face what you saw,

And my next one would have to rhyme with "saw"

Try again from "Walk towards the thing you hear,"]

Tramp - November 10, 2005 08:38 PM (GMT)
Worry not for death is already here

Now you have come my son to the begining of time
