Auto Updater?

I never got the point of an updater, all it does is download the rar for you and extract it, it doesnt cut down on bandwith or anything x_X

But a lot of people don't know they can just replace files and put the data given from the rar into the RO folder and it'll automatically go into the necessary places. Auto updater looks professional, and raises no worries. (If it works)

Well they arent that hard to make anymore, there are a bunch of easy ones to configure on the eathena forums.

I have a question: Will the executables that Jaylor posted work as well instead of this?

Obviously, because the U is proper. Color isn't a word.

While we're picking on this, note that it should be "It's spelled colors", as well it should be Thanks and not thank, and palette is spelled as such and not pallet.
You want to cut out the U because you're lazy? Why not cut out the "led" in "spelled" and make it "spelt"? Or how about the "ough" in "through" and make it "thru"? Oh wait, Americans already did that! :P

You're using the wrong patcher. Get the neoncube one.

That is what I am using o.o And one of Nukes Posts said to delete the neoncube folder...so I did....and now NOTHING works. I tried logging on and it's acting like I never created an account before. So I just lost 3 characters and my accounts.....

.... I never said to delete teh neoncube folder only to delete the neoncube.file which is a real file in the ro folder. And thats cause you dont have the latest client.

-_- everything was working before that autopatcher was introduced. What the hell do I have to do to get this thing to work? Is my sclient wrong? Do I need to reinstall the autopatcher?

Yeah, same thing happened to me. In the "wtf?" topic, Nuke posted a whole bunch of manual updates that were supposed to be done by the autopatcher. Reinstall RO then put those in.

Reinstall all of RO? >< I need to download a new Sak/kRO client then cause mine is over a year old. I just keep mine patched ><

I'll give it a run without complete reintstall see if I can finangle my way out of this.....

Immu saved my life by telling me to change the exe which was all that was wrong - sort of sounds like the same problem you're having Dan? I installed all the patches Nuke linked but they hurt my account so I switched to a slightly older .exe which saved the day.

Anything 0117 and newer should be okay.

So do I have to start all over again? Can someone PM the server IP so I can check to see if my sclient is even correct.
