Are the Hatred skills really supposed to be permanent? Before, it designated a monster until I cast it on another monster. Now, it jus designates a monster and sticks with it. If this is actually a glitch, please take a look at it. If this was intended, I must ask, why is it like this?
The star glad skills are supposed to be designated to certain maps, and certain monsters. You are not supposed to be able to use them over and over again. When you set up the skill such as "Sun map" or w/e it is called you cannot then reuse that skill on another map.
I think Gohan is right. He played on when they first came out and all their skills were bugged. He could change his specialty skills every time he logged in. So one time it was the osiris MVP room he and my SL would pwn it in 2 seconds, one time it was out castle and he defended it......
I think it's fixed now....
The map thing, it warns you as you use it. There are several warnings within the skill descriptions as well. That, I can understand and accept as permanent. Though, the monster targetting one I find odd. The skill description doesn't fit with the effect in that sense. Also, if its permanent, then it horribly downgrades the exp bonus skill, which only activates on the designated monster and only on the designated map. This, in turn, screws Star Gladiators even more in that their exp gain is plain pitiful without it. Job lvl 1, I kill a Leaf Cat and recieve 50% job exp.
I've been told on multiple ocassions that some of the miscellaneous classes are imbalanced. I can see how they've been nerfed to balance out their power (ie. no reborn, no time travel, no pvp for Soul Linker, etc.), but I think limiting two entire skill trees to affect only three monsters is just too much.
Yes, it is true that Star Gladiators have other skills they can use, but if you haven't noticed, they seem to all come with annoying requirements or drawbacks (ie. The aspd boosting skill permanently blinds the Star Gladiator, and that you need to be job lvl 50 for it to work in the first place. Note that job exp for Star Gladiators is essentially non-existant). They can be an effective class, and I see potential in them, particularly as Emperium breakers, but the problem is that they take a ridiculous amount of time and effort to make them feasible, and even then their prerequiste job class can be considered better.
I've also been told that every class can triumph against at least a few other classes somehow, but I'm finding that hard to believe with Star Gladiator. Sure, Gravity may have made the class as such, but I have yet to hear people discussing even high level Star Gladiators ever beating anything. Then again,I have yet to hear of any Star Gladiator reaching a good level. And even moreso, I have yet to see any other Star Gladiators in the server.
I'm not asking to take off all the nerfs on Star Gladiators. I'm merely stating my opinion on this underpowered class. You don't have to do anything I have suggested here, as it is merely a series of suggestions, but it would be nice if you read them. Whether or not you actually change anything will be your choice, and whatever that may be, I'll still keep playing DRO as always. I'll still screw around and be perpetually confuzzled. I just wish for my opinion to be heard and understood, if not accepted.
PS This post is directed at noone in particular. I particularly respect Gohan and Trunk's posts as they've have been playing longer than me and have formed their own opinions. Also, Trunks posted as I was typing this, and I don't want to go back and delete an earlier statement, so yeah, perhaps there were more Star Gladiators than I had thought. Also, if I had seemed in the least bit an arse in this post, I'm terribly sorry for any offense, but training for two hours then having your efforts dashed is quite painful. And finally, maybe this post should be moved to the Suggestions Section.
Don't say I didn't tell you so...
Mine was lvl 90 and it pwned hard.....Then I had to change classes b/c my santa suit and flying skill made everyone error. They are a great class if you know how to use them. And I did not really have much trouble with the lvling, then again the skills were messed up...
Roux you never come across as an arse to me. You formulate your points well and don't bash people while your making your point.
Anywho this is something Nuke or Saga will have to look into since they are the only ones I know of that can effectively understand the code that the game is programmed in and thus letting them effectively edit them to their rightful state. Perhaps you should try asking this same question on the Eathena Forum seeing as how we use their emulator, maybe they can give you a better answer than Gohan or I.
Like we said, we played with the classes when they first came out and were extremely buggy....perhaps you've just stumbled upon another error in the game.
