Title: The Compendium of Commonly Used Dro Terms
Description: For understanding the talk of the town!

Morlock - April 4, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
-Warning: Some mature content inside-

Here I will add all the terms I find being commonly used throughout our server, that may or may not make much sense to the average player. Feel free to PM content to this commpendium, as I will be editing and adding on a regular basis!
Alphabetical order:

-@-
@nuke- Some of the more "interesting folk" of Dro sometimes pipe up, annoying all around that can see. It is even rumoured that one individual, a true mad hatter, has the ability to annoy those that are even on a different map! To solve these little fits, this nifty command has become a common usage in the GM's daily life to keep the peace. It is even highly suggested that @nuke Kanoga is hotkeyed in the macro listing upon the GM's hiring. Thus the term was coined @nuke, or the ingame effect of "Nuking" other players; where one would see a flashy set of explosions, and the targeted player dead as a door nail the next second.
Origin: CuisinartBlade

-A-
Asshatery- When you find something to be so unbelievably stupid and nonsensical, that the author of said event must be an "Asshat"
Origin: ShadO

-B-
Boobfish, Boobsnake- The more common name for the ingame monsters known as Obeaune and Isis, respectively. They were named such due to the enourmous size of their mammories. Thankyou gravity!
Origin: Ree, Racsu, Miera

Bullshitigans- When a hilarious set of shinanigans was so funny and unreal, that you must percieve it as "a bunch of BS"
Origin: Morlock

-C-
-D-
Dalamarmy- It's the attack of the clones! Not really, but whenever you see a massive amount of black clothing novices with red hair, you can almost be certain Dalamar is out and about. His super effective ability of controlling 5+ clients at once, creating an immense body guard for his character, was quite an astounding feat, and his novice companions become known as the Dalamarmy.
Origin: Dalamar

-E-
"Enjoy your aids"- The meaning tends to flux over time, but the most popular use to be documented at the moment is whenever you believe someone is going to have a hard time with something, whether it kill a particular monster or try to even survive in a hard dungeon, you'd tell them to enjoy this horrible std.
Origin: Jer

-F-
Frozowned- In ice dungeon, the Ice Titan monsters have the common tactic of freezing you, then simply walking up to you at a painfully slow 3mph, and Bowling Bashing you, usually resulting in your death.
Origin: Morlock, Jer, Gaara

"Food"- Note that this term is actually a VERB in Dro. It is used to describe the action of ingesting edibles. Another form is also "Fooding," usually put into a chat box by a player, letting everyone know that they've gone afk to go eat: "Brb, fooding"
Origin: Yuuki

-G-
Godsmacked- When you are hit so hard by a monster, you become logged out, or even sent to the characterscreen. In very severe cases, you may even be hit so hard that you are sent back to windows, as in ShadO's case when the orc lord drop kicked him back to his desktop.
Origin: Nukefall, ShadO

-H-
-I-
-J-
Jaylor's Nose!- An exclamation in reply to something magical or proposterous happening.
Origin: CuisinartBlade

-K-
Kafugginpwnt- The G rated fusion of Kablam syntax, and the phrase "f**king owned"
Origin: Jeff

-L-
Lootsicle- The icicle is an absolutely USELESS Monster found in ice dungeon: except for one thing. That is the fact that you can "one hit" it, and recieve 6-10 pieces of ice cubics, which sell for a decent price at the tooldealer. Nicknamed "lootsicle" for the fact that Jer would stop every single time to kill these and loot the cubics.
Origin: Morlock

Lurk Moar (alternatively Lurk f**king More)- How joyful it is when someone enters a conversation, without even caring to read up his facts! Ah his ignorance is bliss.... or not. It usually pisses people off when you start talking about something you don't have a clue about, and this suggestion arose; defined as going back and reading up, or aquiring more knowledge about the topic at hand before participating. Thus this suggestion of going back and reading up, was shortened into "Lurk Moar!"
Origin: CuisinartBlade, Joaquin

-M-
Magnetic boots- The phenomena is quite rare these days with up to date server technology [and a low population!], there used to be instances while playing, where your character would simply not move due to server/computer connection lagging issues. Sometimes you could speak, sometimes you could use a skill, sometimes you simply could not move for a 5 minute period, after which all your actions would suddenly all happen at once and catch up to real time. Whatever the case, you experienced your very own pair of magnetic boots, coined for the fact that your movement dropped to zero
Origin: ???

Mammo Spammo- Merchants lack any sort of useful single target skills, save for just one. Due to this, they tend to use it as fast as they can, and as often as they can during any fighting they may participate. Mammonite is the merchant skill that allows the player to throw their money at the enemy, and since merchants are known for this spammage, any reference to a merchant fighting is known as "Mammo Spammo"
Origin: ???

Meatshield- Does your job description have a couple of words such as "bold", "brave", "strong", "courageous", etc? Then you my friend are one of the world's meatshields! What is a meatshield you ask? Don't even worry about it, in fact let me stand behind you and cast my wonderfully powerful skills whilst you do your "brave" thing and stand there taking hits for me =D.
Origin: As far back as MMO's go

Mudkip; "I herd he likes [or doesn't like] Mudkips"- The mudkip is the most fabled mythical creature of the dROnian's world, a creature of such elite fashion that there of been tales of people being "pwned" by them despite their measly stature, thus how they became so popular. If you hear about someone not liking them, chances are they aren't a good fellow. [Note that this creature has yet to actually appear in the game save for a cute hat, and is actually a pokemon reference.]
Orign: Jer, Dan

-N-
Needs Moar Lens Flare- The first known Dro meme. In order to describe the curious amount of lighted flaring in a photograph, or even your plain vision, it goes without saying that one would use witty sarcasm! So this term was invented for the further description of the lens flaring a bit much.
Origin: Drake, CuisinartBlade, Dalamar

Nerd- Note that this word in Dro is actually a verb, another form being "nerding." Example: "Man, we're going to nerd it up at DnD tonight!" (yuuki).
Origin: Nukefall

-O-
-P-
-Q-
-R-
RO'ing, or DRO'ing- Simply put: Playing DragonRO, or Ragnarok online in general.

-S-
Sand Willies- These little sand worms, their formal name being "Hodes" ingame, are known for their striking resemblence to the male's reproductive organ, or "Willie."
Origin: Racsu

Sealing- Much like whaling (hunting of whales) except that the hunted in question are seals; save for the fact that whenever a party goes sealing, we don't use harpoons, we gather a bunch and NUKE the bastards with the terrorist tactics of Lord of vermillion and thuderstorm.
Origin: Nukefall, Morlock

-T-
Tonkies- The common monster "Galapago" renamed to "Tonkie" for the striking similarities in penguin manliness and beer guzzling.
Origin: Pirates of Dro

"Truth"- The usual response to when someone says something that is correct or true, especially more so if it is a strong point.
Origin: Jer

-U-
-V-
Virtual Move, or VMove- A phenomena that has plagued Ragnarok Online from the very beginning, where as when fighting any monsters with skills that displace their position, they appear to be farther back or closer than they actually are. The only known cure during a fight is to run way the hell offscreen, and run back.
Origin: Morlock

-W-
Wall of text- Blah blah blahblah, blahbleh blah blehblah blah. Blehblahbloo? Blah bleh blah blah blah blah! Bleh blah bloop ploo bloo boop poob. Blah bleh blooh bloh bloah bloahhoop hooblohhblah. Blehbleahpleh.....

Ever start reading someone post, and realize that it is too long and boring to find any coherence on the current topic? You've stumbled into a wall of text, and chances are you aren't going to read any of it, despite the fact that the post MAY hold proper sentence structure if you are lucky. Even though some good points have been made in walls of text, unless you are going to be posting in the random or the fanfic section (a story for example), then please keep your posts concise and to the point, to save us bickering and whining whether to actually read it or not.

Racusu Cryne - April 4, 2007 11:44 PM (GMT)
Hey hey hey, you forgot Sand Willies. They're Hodes btw.

Tonkie - April 5, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
All frustrations toward the real Tonkie should be taken out on his Penguins Brethren's Sprites in game. The same goes for E-Love... That is all.

Rock on Mori.

Tonker

Cenese - April 5, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
I'm in joyful tears right now...

Morlock, would you like to write out "Your Guide to the DragonRO Community, Second Edition?"

That was the first thing that came to my mind when I read this.

- Cenese

Zarf - April 5, 2007 04:15 AM (GMT)
I think Mammo Spammo should be added.

Morlock - April 5, 2007 02:51 PM (GMT)
Content update: Lurk Moar, Moar Lens Flare, Sand Willies, Dalamarmy, Mammo Spammo, @nuke

mrgogogas - April 5, 2007 11:37 PM (GMT)
There should also be "it's an _____", and "Pool's closed".
First came from me, second from Lick. Lick's is the name of pets on dRO, and mine is what you say when you see someone...

Did I make "truth" up? O___o

ImmunityBow - April 6, 2007 02:17 AM (GMT)
Ima made Mammo Spammo 'cause of what Moonie would do to my Sniper when I tried to kill it (during when I was actually killing Missy O_o). Kinzoku and Kossori could probably attest to that.

Joaquin - April 8, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
Well, I call stapos sand n**ger porings, but i don't think that is very appropriate.

Chris - April 9, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
I say Upgrade and Racusu go in that list for DRO's most hardcore flamers. Oh yeah.

mager - April 9, 2007 12:21 PM (GMT)
What about Wall of Pain?
As in what happens when a noob tries to walk through a firewall instead of around it

Crow - April 9, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
psh, all these words and the most common arn't there. Like

"Sealing" when you mob seals and pwn them to death

Also see "Geoing" and "Leafing" (Killing geographers in mass, and leafcats to gain levels fast)

When i think of some more ill put em up.

Kinzoku - April 16, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
Raiding the fridge

Going and killing everything in any dungeon.

Jaylor - April 16, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
I believe the term "Boobsnake" originated with Miera

Nice list! I had to lol at some points.

PS "pool's closed" shall never be part of this.

I think Kanoga should be added there too.

elrahimo - October 19, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
