Title: So i lost my brakes...
CuisinartBlade - July 7, 2007 12:05 AM (GMT)
k here's the back story:
i was cruising along on the highway at a brisk 175 kmph with two friends, Alex and Christina. i utilize my brakes on the exit ramp and arrive safely at my good amigo Mark's house. he gets in. at the first stop sign outside of his house, i push my brakes, only to find that nothing is happening. i push harder. still nothing. i am now flooring my brakes, and my car is still moving. i quickly apply the emergency foot-brake to avoid a collision with another car. so im visibly angry that my brakes stop working at such a time as this, and we continue our 10km trip using nothing but neutral and the emergency foot-brake. since my stopping distance pretty much doubled (i wasn't slamming the e-brake to avoid locking), i was extra vigilent. there was no blasting music and i requested that everyone in the car shut the f**k up for the duration of the trip. afterwards i drive home safely and soundly. my friend picks me up in his car (with working brakes) after i get home and we hit some bowls in his car (but that's a story for later). the next day, i drive my car over to my buddy Faris who works at the local Toyota dealership. (since my car is a Toyota, this makes sense) he inquires as to the nature of my visitation and i explain to him the aforementioned escapade. he quickly runs my car up onto the airlift and proceeds to change the brakes. i needed a brake flush, new pads, new rotors, re-allignment and a new piston. what happened was the pads were so worn down that the piston that pushes the pads onto the disc flew out and sprayed brake fluid everywhere. he told me that i was one lucky man for making that trip and not crashing. The bill for all this was $602.xx. if it was a random mechanic that didn't know me, it probably would have been over $1200.
MORAL OF THE STORY: get your brakes inspected more often than you think you should.

*yawn*
That story put me to sleep. Especially the added for no reason, "hit some bowls in his car" part.
Nobody got hurt. Nothing serious happened. It was your f**king brakes. What seems to be the f**king problem? XD

I have one. I have an automobile. a 1994 Suburban. I came to talk to you.
Don't gimme that stupid shit because I have been in many car wrecks with my idiot friend drivers and this is nothing. Nobody got hurt, nothing f**king happened. STFU. Nub....
I myself have had nothing more than a tire pop on me and that is nothing to brag about as what you are doing here with your brake story.
Maxim2735 - July 7, 2007 03:53 AM (GMT)
Why were you going 175mph fool
EDIT: Oh wait, I forgot you use stupid Canadian-style measurements. 175kmph is like 40mph in real speed right?

Funny <_<.
Well, w/e. You can even ask Ismael when he gets back from Mexico whether I have a car or not if you don't believe me <_<. It's my car. The insurance is under MY name. My parents have their own vehicles.
@ Neme: You have nothing at all to do with this. Thanks for not saying shit.
