Title: So hows the internet these days?
Description: i wouldn't know

ShadO - July 1, 2008 12:42 PM (GMT)
Ahoy everyone. Yes I am in fact still alive out here. As some of you know, i recently moved out of my house and into my own apartment (hence the reason for my absence) All went well and im now living happily in my new home. There is only one problem, i STILL have no internet.

summary of my verizon experience:

6/14 : i call and order service , im told they will set it up on 6/23

9 days pass

6/23 : my service is not activated, I call them and complain, they say the order is still pending for the day and there are no reported problems, it should be completed on time. i point out that its 8 pm and their techs stop working at 6. they realize their stupidness and promise to have it up the next day.

6/24 : i get a recorded phone call at work around 9 am that says my internet is up. i get home and it doesn't work. i check all my appt's phone lines and jacks and find no problems so I call them again. a technician is scheduled to come fix it on 6/26

6/26 : no one shows up. i call quite angry, they say their was no tech available (a cop out answer from a level 1 tech in India, I'm fairly sure dispatch didn't answer his call) im ASSURED a tech will be there on 6/30

6/30 no one shows up AGAIN. i call them FURIOUS, demand a supervisor and lost it on him. im told there was a problem with the service ticket. and the earliest they can send a techy out now is 7/3 I tell them this is completely unacceptable and they they need to do it tomorrow or im canceling (an empty threat, i need internet and I wont use comcast) im pretty much told that they cant do anything and if I need to cancel because of it then fine. i tell them its their last chance.

7/3 pending

all I want is my interebs.

Get above those lvl 1 f**kers and demand to talk to someone higher up in the chain. Thats how my dad got us like 6 months of direct tv for free. The fact their customer service is trash should be reason enough for you to get something for free. ALSO the fact you were told 4 times it would be done the on a certain day and it wasn't is more than enough reason for you to leave. The fact they don't care that you threatened to leave just tells me that the company doesn't care about your business.

I WANT to leave. but comcast is worse and I need internet. (16 MBPS down, they dont tell you that you share that with 4 other people and your upload speed is 300kbps) besides I want fios when it comes out in my town. not to mention comcast costs $60 /month and verizon is $40. im poor

Ouch, that's awful customer service. Perhaps they simply know they're better than the competition and they can afford to be that way. Very much a shame. I'd suggest calling back, and to not stop demanding to speak to supervisors until you get to a ceo or president so you can explain to them in a calm angry-thunder-roaring-in-the-background sort of way just how crappy their service is and how you demand something be done :D and afterall, it seems they've forgotten who the customer is.

This is becoming a sad change is companies. They don't care about the customer anymore.
