Also carries several tools, including a welder, and is fairly adept at constructing various armaments, such as improvised explosives and clockwork turrents.
Quick or long resume of your character's past: Hailing from the clockwork city of Helitzgrad, Jalnaes proved to be a talented engineer early on, and was invited to join the Engineer Guild at the age of 17. Through years of dedicated work, Jalnaes eventually earned the esteemed rank of Vice-Chief Engineer. As with many engineers in the guild, Jalnaes sought to overcome the limiting factor of finite energy, and delved into various related fields, such as physics and chemistry. However, as he possessed utterly no magical talent whatsoever, Jalnaes was unable to work with any form of magical engineering. With very little progress towards perpetual energy through any other field, Jalnaes held suspicions that the answer could be found in magical engineering, and though he resented his inability to fully comprehend the arcane portion of the subject, Jalnaes followed through on his search. Eventually, Jalnaes’ studies unearth signs pointing to a lost race known as the Galdric, who not only possessed elemental heritage, but also utilized their powers to construct various magi-technical artifacts. One such artifact was the Azicrat, a battery capable of the magnification, conversion, and containment of all forms of energy, be it physical or magical. Clues from ancient texts revealed a network of tunnels within the surrounding mountainside, where a subterranean Galdric city was said to have existed, powered by a self-sustaining energy source. Convinced that the artifact in question was indeed the Azicrat, Jalnaes set out in search of the underground city. To his fortune, Jalnaes uncovered the lost city and managed to unlock a massive vault in the center. To his dismay, the vault held not the Azicrat, but a strange portal…
Strengths: Jalnaes’ gunhammer is not only very large, but is also capable of firing blank shots directly into an enemy upon impact. Rather strong for an engineer, Jalnaes sports an incredibly thick suit of plate mail, designed with the intent of repelling rather than avoiding damage. The suit is almost impervious to cutting or crushing damage, and is moderately able to ward off piercing attacks. In addition, Jalnaes is incredibly experienced at mending weapons and armor, and can also construct various armaments, such as small traps, timed explosives, and mechanized turrets.
Weaknesses: Even with the strengthening augmentations he utilized in his armory, Jalnaes is
ridiculously cumbersome. His modifications only go so far as to take over the strain of movement; he may not require much effort to move, but the actions themselves are incredibly slow. What’s more, though the armor can withstand severe heat and cold, it cannot protect Jalnaes within from the elements. The sheer weight of his gunhammer further adds to the problem, as the weapon is fairly unwieldy and unbalanced, making him very clumsy in combat. In addition, as his gauntlets are too big to allow for careful dexterity, Jalnaes is unable to construct or repair anything while armored.
