Title: Nintendo DSi
Hugo - March 11, 2009 05:28 AM (GMT)
Hi, what do you people think about it? I'm not sure if I should buy it, i already have a DS Lite but I think the mic is broken and well a big part of the plastic between the 2 screen is broken so my top screen keep falling down if I hold the DS over me (exemple: playing in my bed holding the DS in the air) lol its very annoying. But yea, i was wondering if someone know a lot about the new DSi ? The only thing which look special is about the camera and photo -_- on the website it only show this lol..

jay, do you need to fall off a 10 story building to know it'll hurt? no? well I don't need to try the DSi to know it's gonna be shit. i'm sick and tired of everyone going "how can we improve this? OH I KNOW!!!!1 let's add a camera!!!1" whoopdie cocking do. i can now take pictures with my camera, my phone, my MP3 player, AND my portable video game console. what's next? a Polaroid wallet? Photo hats? watch camera? come f**king on.
the DS was good. the DSlite was good. this is just nintendo trying to make more monies without putting any effort into it. suck my dick, Nintendo. you pulled this shit before with the GBA micro. and before that with the platinum SP. i didn't buy into it before, and I'm not buying into it now.
EDIT:
LOOOL f**k the DSi
"All existing homebrew flash cards for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite are incompatible with the DSi" - Wikipedia.

I have to agree with Nick on this one. All it has going for it is the new camera....yay? I think not. Waste of money unless you do not have a DS right now.

You also loose the GBA slot. Not sure if this matters to anyone but since I don't own a GBA anymore the slot comes in handy when I want to play some older games of mine.
Save yourself $200 bro and pass on this shitter.

Wait - no backward compatibility for GBA games?
What's the point of it then?
Carcharoth - March 12, 2009 07:50 PM (GMT)
Just get yourself another DS lite. I love the thing myself, but I see no point in buying the DSi...

Yea, this become a major problem for Guitar Hero player.
they didn't only added a camera, you can now listen to music and many little stuff like this. And the screen is a little larger (btw they added 2 camera on the DSi, one which allow you to take picture of yourself) lol what would be cool is that we could add friend on a friend list and pictochat them whenever we want to, even if they live at the other side of the world lol

Dude, a DSi will never EVER, EVER replace a REAL MP3 player. Just buy another DSlite, and purchase a iPOD, iPOD touch, iPHONE, or some other thing........
I <3 my iPHONE. It makes me happy.
Truth be told that online pictochat thing should be a standard setting on the f**king DS in the first place.

I think you guys are definitely looking at this the wrong way.
It's not meant to be an UPGRADE, you don't have to replace your DS Lite with it. This is pretty much another attempt at getting MORE people that STILL don't have a DS to buy the DSi, this time luring them in with a camera and yadda yadda yadda.
I know I'll be getting one, seeing as how my mother gave my DS Lite away. :/

I have no use for the DSi, nor do I need a DS even though that I have had one since it first came out. The lack of fun games like the wii is irritating, and if you were to buy a handheld, I'd recommend a PSP. At least you can do cool things like remotely connect to your PC, listen to mp3's, watch movies etc etc... They have some pretty cool games on the PSP as well. I don't own one but I would like to one day.
The DSi is to the DS Phat as the Wii Sensor Plus is to my erotic fantasies. A lot of wasted money :/

I would never recommend a PSP to anyone. For pretty much the same reasons,
No good games. I can list off the good games on 1 hand.
God of War, Katamari, that game with the blob and you tilt the world......thats all I got.
Everything else is just a shitty port over from the PS2.
The PSP had such potential, Sony just ignored it and let it die.

You forgot the monster hunter series.

The PSP has plenty of good games, namely RPG's. However with the PSP you're not limited to just PSP games, but nice Playstation ports, or homebrew, flash, and even emulating other systems. The DS can do this, but with a higher cost and level of difficulty. I'm an RPG type of person, so the PSP suits me best instead of lets say... Cooking Mama, Nintendogs and Eye Training games =P
There ARE good games for the DS, but the majority of them aren't exactly for your hardcore gamer. Metroid is the most serious game I've seen on it and metroid in my opinion isn't as fun as it once was. Realistically, all handhelds right now suck. The GBA was pretty damn good though, but I'm getting anal about graphics these days so unless it's an isometric or bird's eye view RPG, I have issues with lower res games. I wasn't like this before, but I guess age does that to ya. Oh well, not like I'm on the go very much anyways, rather I'm never on the go so a handheld device isn't very useful for me. 360, PS3, and the PC are my primary systems right now. Wii is still collecting dust xD
In short what I think....
DS: Kitty Grade Games, very little innovation if any with games. Mostly just FP made games have some uniqueness to them. The rest is mostly just miniware or dry games except for some of the better ones like Pokemon. Just like the wii, we the Nintendo fans got the butt of the joke when "innovation" was a term splashed at everything, when of course the innovation never really came.
PSP: Kinda useless, nice graphics for a handheld, can be easily modded and costs relatively the same as the DS. The downside is that you need to buy a memory card, there isn't too many games to enjoy, but the ability to watch movies, play music, and emulate games extends the PSP's life. It's also not kitty-grade.
EDIT: Just putting it out there... Each console and handheld is designed towards their own target audience. I'm not within the realm of Nintendo's target audience. I'm too old to be in their 6-18 and too young for their 32-senile. lol, I don't know what their real demographics is, but I know I personally don't fit in it as a casual gamer.

I resolved my problem. I bought a DSi and im playing to buy a PSP, i already bought 2 great game for it, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the lions and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicle + you can easily hack a PSP so you can instal emulator on it X) my friend play some SNES game on his PSP, its awesome, but if I had to buy a new PSP , i wouldnt hack it.
On the DS there is some great game! the remake of the old final fantasy was cool! the 3 castlevania game are awesome, the new Crystal Chronicle is also very nice, final fantasy tactics advance 2 was the best game ever , i played over 100 hour and I just finished the half of the game on hard. Super Mario 64 is also hot (150 stars, new world, etc.) and many other game are nice, Harvest Moon! Mario Kart!
but some legend game such as Zelda are really sucky on the DS
