Title: hi im new I keep geting an error

im new to this game an I down loaded it an I was doing the patch an it gave me an error unknown error:2008-10-14.rar an im geting an base patch.rar error too can anyone please help me please thanks

You have to install RO inside your documents folder so that it will allow you to update and install it correctly. OR you have to disable all the vista extras about asking if its okay to do anything. But the first one is just easier.

yea I got exact problem on my computer, i dragged the instalation application into my document too then reinstillled but still got both errors. i am using vista though.so how do I turn all vist stuff off to do the reinstaill? or is there anymore ways to do itor do I have no chance and have to find new server? =[

You should install it to your Documents folder so it can update, and also make sure you run the Patch Clients as Administrator, so it has the proper permissions to change files on your system.
The Patch Client uses rar file format, so winrar is needed, though it's a good program to have on your computer anyway

Everything you need can be found in game in Old Payon. You can access that town from any town in RO through the Town Warper.
