I don't really get it o.o I could max only 3 thing so far: the buddy, the fire, and the tree house thingy

Haha you have to end with everything at max! You gotta place everything in a certain order. Everything levels up, and everything affects everything else.
Your pot probably blew up because the fire was too strong ;)
