Title: RO2?

What's going on with that in the private server communities? Have any of you played it and liked it or hated it?

Played it a bit, was not too impressed, but it wasn't terrible. I prolly would have liked it better if it was in English, and the quests and stuff worked...lol

Yeah, basic functionality and an understandable language is usually a good starting point :x

I was playing it a good bit while dRO was still down. I enjoyed it, think of it like FF XI, WoW, and RO tossed into one. Would of been far more interesting if quests and there was more to explore.
Otherwise, I'm waiting for a final release. <:

Otherwise, never.
The game is ok. The private server Jay had going I had a ton of client issues with it. I crashed in some town and couldn't log back on that toon.
It looked nice, soundtrack was amazing, and nothing worked.

I forget what server I was playing on, it was Janus I believe. A lot of things were fixed and I was almost level 90.
They had most things working as a matter of fact.
The Janus server base isn't available publicly yet sadly, so dRO is still on the first RO2 server release.

I checked it out on some other pserver. Really boring since the community is non-existent. Still decent looking though.

There are about 3 fairly big RO2 communities out there but the game is very short. You will spend about 30 hours and be done with the game forever. Unfortunately the game itself seemed to be on hiatus because Gravity gave up on using the Unreal 3 engine and used a different one, so they had to rewrite the game from scratch. So the public servers that you see right now aren't going to get any updates ever until a new emulator is released. I'm sure that the SAGA project will continue only if someone decides to do so.
At any rate, RO2 offers and will offer almost nothing compared to what over 10 years has with RO1 (i think it's been 10?). Also it's nice to see you here again Fuji-san!

Hah, seems so. thanks hedgie.

I saw some underground shots from the game last week and it looked prettier using their new game engine. It's not up to par like it was in 2005 when the game was first shown to the public. Even with the updates it look like a piece of crap. It's not the terrible 256x256 textures that they use, it's the polycount. With the engine that they are using right now, it should be good enough to support higher polycount but ehh whatever.
